First, it decreases the probably of players ditching one game, after they've signed up for it, in favor for another, since all the games would be available from the begiining of player sign up.
Second, it'll give the GMs a chance to shuffle their games into slots such that the GMs get a chance (and first pick!) as to what games they want to play when they aren't GMing.
