Chicago Pizzas

Inspired by the best pizza as a music instruement, some of my choices for Chicago.

Renaldi's Pizza Pub It's one of the few places I still prefer the thin crust to the pan, but the pan isn't too bad either. For something different, their spingonie pizza is up that alley.

Piece Pizza Only had the thing crust a few times but it's good stuff. The atmosphere is nice too and they have some good specials that I keep meaning to go back to.

Lou Malnatis Great pan pizza.

Art of Pizza When I want a stuffed pizza, this is the place to go.

I know of plenty of others but those were off the top of my head.

Charlie Fox's on Hwy 31 in Batavia makes great deep dish and stuffed pizza... Plus, it's not more than a quarter mile or so from my house.

Roma D'Italiano's on Hwy 59 in Warrenville makes excellent deep-fried calzones. They'll kill you, but oh are they tastey.

Plus, these are the only two places local to me that make a good anchovy pizza.

If you're on the northeast side of town (Rogers Park, West Ridge, Lakeview) like me, a good little place like JB Albertos is delivering well into the night - right now, even! :)

For gaming nights downtown, it's always thin crust from Pat's Pizza on south Clark. Looking at it, it shouldn't be anything special - but we've concluded that they must add something to it to make it absolutely addictive. We've taken to calling it "crack pizza". Crikey, just thinking about it makes my hands shake...

Wow, Gino's East is nowhere to be found. :)

I like Gino's East. I eat there frequently. There are several I go to, including the one on Diversy and Lincon and the one on Greenbay Road.

I just don't know if a chain resteraunt really qualifies as the best. After all, Chicago Pizza is pretty good too. Haven't had any luck with Nacy's or Giordano's though. Bad pizza every time I've been to those two.

I haven't eaten there since I moved out of the city. I used to live by Mozart and Grandville. Going up there used to be a special treat. NO offense to those that live there, but man, talk about bad areas. It was always better to order from them.

They also introduced me ot the double decker pizza. Man, that was some good eats.

much agreed - it is right by an el train station, which for some reason seems to attract a certain element...

but yeah, delivery is worth it everytime. :)
