When it comes to cherries and chocolate, you can't beat the Black Forest Gateau.

I'm usually on the front line of the war in defense of licorice, but it's not really a good pair with chocolate.

Chocolate banana is clearly the underrated pairing here, so great
I don't really like licorice on its own but I've had some European candies that mix it into chocolate and they were surprisingly good.
