A little of both. Chocolate, with crushed peanut and coconut embedded in it, surrounding a cherry in syrup. Many a child's face looked like a crime scene after eating one.

Don't be too sure about that. Everyone has got a favorite Chocolate piece of candy and/or desert that they are willing to crow about.

I'm usually on the front line of the war in defense of licorice, but it's not really a good pair with chocolate.

Chocolate banana is clearly the underrated pairing here, so great

I don't really like licorice on its own but I've had some European candies that mix it into chocolate and they were surprisingly good.

I tried out Lemon and White Chocolate fairly recently when I had some Lemon Meringue M&Ms at my workplace.
