Cicadas

They emerge from underground every 17 years. Ugh. They may interfere with outdoor game plans or inspire you to add hords of creepycrawlies to your campaigns. Anyone have any good links?

I have very little problems with them. They shed there skin, and I frequently see the skin's on the sides of tree's and houses...

They are just noisy and ugly. They aren't like most locusts, whom eat everything in their path. But they are damn annoying at times. Mostly they just appear and disappear.

I'll repeat here what I heard on a news show. Try to keep your pets inside and away from the bugs because they can make pets sick. That has to be even worse... noisy bugs everywhere and poor animals tossing their cookies. Where the heck would you step?

I really hate cicadas. In a way, their noise defines a summer night to me, but in another way (and the most important one) WHEN THEY'RE AROUND I CANNOT SLEEP AT ALL! Gaah!

Cicadas are basically unbelievably numberous, 1x1/2x1/2 inch, fuzzy, annoying locusts and make a neat sound when you hit them with a baseball bat. Get out the 2,800 PSI industrial strength rip-the-meat-from-your-bones pressure washer, 'cause we're gonna have us lots of Cicada-dissolving fun this summer! :D
