D&D (2024) Class spell lists and pact magic are back!

Class spell lists are back, so happy that sorcerers are going back to just being lamer wizards yet again! /sarcasm

This reverting back only helps the Wizard class.

Which is why Wizard fans did it, they want the other classes to suck.

I think it's probably a little more complicated than "if enough people yell about it, we can win."

Also: I'm not a fan of the Wizard class (I'm on Team Four), but I pushed back against it. It wasn't because I'm on some weird agenda to change the game forever; it just wasn't the direction I wanted to see.

I don't think it's because all these people are "Wizard fans"... but rather more likely all these people just don't see this great disparity between all the classes that folks here on the board seem to do. There's no grand conspiracy here... most of the respondents probably just don't give a damn, LOL.

I am definitely a fan of having unique spell lists. But with less overlap.

Like if...
Fear and hypnotic pattern are bard only.
Magic Missile and wall of force are wizard only.
Fireball and disintegrate might be sorcerer only.

Druids and clerics are mostly good at having unique spells.

Honestly I might just homebrew Rangers getting access to Druid spells, Paladins getting access to Cleric spells and Sorcerers getting access to Wizard spells (and maybe even Druid spells too). They are already limited either by being a Half Casters or having a much smaller spells known pool so I don’t see a problem with this.

Warlocks get X slots per day.
And get Y back on a short rest.
And all the slots scale as before.
