cloak of chaos on lawful eneimes

whats your take on casting cloak of chaos on an opposing lawful party with spellcasters, plus your party since its one person/level
would they get a save or since its an 8th level spell no save, unless they try to hit as per the spell
i thinking that it could be one hell of a battle if everytime they cast a spell they allways have to make a SR roll no matter friend of foe

but if they try to cast a spell on them selves or a freind with it on, they have to bypass the SR being its a spell from another caster and it works against all spells from lawful casters, it would work.
its not ther personal SR, so i would think they dont have the option to drop it

If the SR is on them, it's their SR. It sure as hell ain't your SR.

Of course, if any of your guys try to cast a spell on them, it won't work either.

but its a chaotic spell on a lawful creature from a chaotic caster
so i would think it should, plus the SR only works against lawful casters and spells.

page 184 Cloak of chaos third paragraph
the warded creatures gain Sr 25 against lawful spells and spells cast by lawful creatures

kind of a waste of 8th level spell slots don't you think? I mean stock up on symbols and firestorms and antimagic fields and stuff. And besides, if you can throw a bunch of 8th level spells around is SR 25 going to prove that much of a problem?

well see im running lord of the iron fortress and one of the encounters has a death slaad that can cast it at will
they hate lawful creatures, like the preist of st. cuthbert in the party. who by the way is a real problem because of that 1 level of paladin with pumped up CHA his saves are crazy +28/+20/+30
and hes only 14th level

the SR should work against all lawful spells and spell casters
it a spell not inate

am i wrong or could this be a different way to look at SR thats not benifical.
