[CoC] WotC Support?

No plans no updates no releses nothing. Their website was last updated over 6 months ago... Is all the CoC stuff being done through Chaosium and their dual stat stuff, or am I missing something here.

Also are there any other companies putting anything else out for it? I mean FF games put out Nocturum, but that is it. Chaosium only plans on releasing 4-6 things with dual stats this year. Deta Green is rumored to be comming this year with dual stats...

I just want something new to read :(

Nope, no WotC support. They said even before the book came out that they were just doing the core book. Support is to come from Chaosium.

Danzig is correct - WotC had the license only for the core CoC d20 book. AFAIK, FF only has the license to do Nocturnum.

Chaosium has released one d20 only product so far: the Gamemaster's Pack, with Pulp Cthulhu set for late this year.

It looks like the dual-stat stuff will have to hold us over 'till then. BTW - I just picked up HPL's Dunwich dual stat, it's real good.

VorpalBunny is right on all counts, to the best of my knowledge.

As far as a dual-stat Delta Green book is concerned, my experience with Pagan is that although their stuff is often very late, it always comes out and it's always superlative. I'd bet money that we'll see this book on shelves this year.

Chaosium's website does list H.P. Lovecraft's Arkham (which is dual-stat) as being "at the printer," so it should be hitting your FLGS fairly soon. Amazon lists it as being released this month, for what that's worth.

Head over to www.montecook.com and check out his messageboards for his CoC stuff. From the author of the d20 version to you...:)

Yup I post there under the same name as here :)
That board is slower than the WotC CoC board sometimes :(

On a side note Monte said that he has no plans to work on a CoC adventure/supplemental/anything as far as work goes. He would like to write a advunture, but aside from infest he is not doing any. I am assuming that Chaosium likes to keep a lid on the Cthulhu one of products and handle it all themselves, but I have no knowedge of the company. Aside from Pagan Publishing is there anyone that has the rights to release a CoC product? Is it that hard to get or does no one want it?

The Dual-stat stuff mostly seems to be reprints and sourcebooks, as near as I can tell. I suppose it's understandable that Chaosium would want to put their newer material into their own line, but it is kind of annoying to have this nice hardcover we really can't do anything with.

I'll back up VorpalBunny- Dunwich is awesome. I've actually got the original edition, but the new one is pretty much word-for-word, along with a bit of new material. Someone who knows what they're doing could set an entire campaign in that one small town. It'd be like a cross between "Twin Peaks" and "The Hills Have Eyes". Even if you never run the thing, it's a great read.

I know Kingsport is supposed to be out later this year as well. But that's the only other Dual-stat I've heard of. The Kingsport reprint will be nice since the old one is almost impossible to find.

Even if you don't have the original Call of Cthulhu, you might want to check out some of the non-d20 stuff. It's almost always excellent, and converion isn't going to be that hard- just transer stats and divide skills by five.

So, if we're not going to get any support, should we just whip up some fan material? I know that the game's not OGL or anything, but there could at least be some potential for a website or 'zine or something....

Byron: I am thinking of getting Beyond Innsmouth (or which ever the antartica expidition 400p. one is :)) because The Thing (the 80's version) is one of my favorite movies. I think that being stranded on a place like that could inspire alot of fear w/o mythos creatures. Also the Goatswood setting (but I heard that there is a d20 version comming) is quite intreaguing, I loved R. Campbell's work in Goatswood. The Plane of Sound is such an amazing thrilling story.

Vorpal: Chaosium's site also has 3 books on there that were supposed to get printed last year (Dreamlands, Miskatonic, Secrets of Japan), so your probably right.
