Collapsed lung

Ferret said:
It was just a weakness in the lineing of the lung, it spontaneously gave way. This was so odd that she had random doctors coming in and marvelling at the X-rays.

But she's much better then I expected, I would have thoughtthat a collapsed lung could be fatal, but its not. She is in a good mood, drinking coffee, and eating so nothing to worry about. :)

Good to hear things are looking up. As to the fatality level, that's the reason why we often have doubles of organs like eyes, ears, lungs, kidneys, testes, and ovaries. If one fails the other can pick up the slack enough to allow us to reproduce and pass on our genetics. The body's pretty cool.

And hopefully this will fade into a strange and unpleasant memory for you, your sister, and your family.

I'm glad to hear that she is getting better, and that they found the cause. Be sure to tell her a bunch of gaming strangers are hoping for her recovery.

You know it's a bad sign when doctors ask lots of questions and seem really puzzled.

I remember when my friend back in KC nearly died because he took his Imitrix (for migraines) out of the needle and tried to inhale it. It nearly killed him, and left him deaf in one ear. That was a rough time for him. Lots of doctors trying to puzzle that one out.

Ok, update: She hasn't gotten any better then before she has an inflammation of the plueral(?), the lining of the lung. If she doesn't get any better they might have to do key hole surgery. Thanks for all your support guys, it means a lot to me.
