Collapsed lung

I've had my lung collapse and while it's excruciatingly painful, it's not particularly dangerous. For most people, the lung will reinflate itself eventually -- that's just a long time of pain and suffering so they usually give it an assist.

Which involves having a foot-long steel tube inserted into chest. THAT will wake you up in the morning, let me tell you.

Pleurasy is even LESS fun, though. I'm sure everything will turn out okay.

I'm kidding, but I hope she's "back on the road quickly and safely in a matter of minutes."

isn't it a miracle of physics how the lungs work?

Ferret, my prayers and best wishes to your sister. I hope she overcomes this soon. I know it's tough to see something like this especially during a holiday season.

Do the Brits celebrate Thanksgiving?

Ferret, I will keep your sister in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she has a full and speedy recovery soon.

I had a partial collapse of the lower lobe of my right lung once. (I had a pretty bad infection.) Nowhere as serious as what your sister is going through.

My mom who was a nurse for 26 years says it happens at times to young thin people...
It happened to a friend of mine when I was in (high) school. He was fine in the end.

Still, I'm sure it's distressing for Ferret Sister and family, and would like to extend my very best wishes.
