Can anyone come up with a way this power would work on an ooze?
Fairly easily. The fighter does whatever it that attracts oozes, the oozes mindlessly attack the seeming yum-yum. The power works fine as written for unintelligent creatures and low-intelligence melee types. It's only when used against creatures with ranged attacks that it give me (and I suspect other people) a headache.
Fighter taunts/angers/draws attention/makes himself look vulnerable? All fine.
Fighter somehow causes people with very effective long range powers to forget them and go rushing in, exposing themselves not just to the fighter but to any other hazards, possibly abandoning defensible positions? (Remember, as written, the fighter can walk up to an area where archers, wizards, or archer-wizards are safely behind cover, say "Neener neener neener, I did your Mom!", and they will -- without any save, int check, attack vs. Will, or whatever -- merrily abandon their cover and go rushing in to get wonked on by the fighter. If it's "He makes you so mad you can't think straight!", it should at least be based on Will defense. If it's "He seems vulnerable, the monster have to take advantage", then make it so they can't gain LOS to any other target, like the Paladin's smite does. But, as written, the smartest, most strong willed, monster in the book *will* leave a fortified postion to attack the fighter in melee, no questions asked.)
