Giaks are ferocious fighters, spawned in the dark depths of Helgedad. They are the mainstay of the Darklord armies.
Giaks are short and squat, with grey/green skin and yellow fangs. In battle, they are relentless, and they often ride Doomwolves into melee. They are quite good at following orders and they respect strong leaders; but should a leader show weakness, their nerve breaks and they will flee. The Darklords combat this flaw by providing Giak warbands with Gourgaz leaders.
Giaks have very sensitive eyes (which grants them Darkvision 60ft). Their repertory system has defences against toxins (+2 saves vs inhaled poison) and their body fat shields them from the intense heat of the Darklands (fire resistance 5).

GIAK CHARACTERS:
A Giak may advance in levels in a character class. Barbarians and fighters are common, with fighter being their favoured class.

I like it ...

dunno why but I want to make it a goblinoid ... (can never have enough goblinoids!)

CR1? *wolf checks MM* hmm, a weak CR1 or a strong CR .5 ... tough choice.

yeah, a CR 1 I think, probably from the darkvision and the fire resistance (if used well darkvision can always be a pain).

You've not mentioned what weapons they use yet have specified armour and shield. Also I'm guessing its a merium-sized humanoid :)

The CR's a high 1 (1.6 to be exact). The fact that a 1st level Wizard would have little trouble taking a whole lot of these little bastards out with a sleep leaves it at around 1.

To be honest, its a conversion of a monster found in the Lone Wolf gamebooks. They are very much goblinoid in appearance. Resoning behind the lack of weapon details is due to the fact that they use all manner of weapons and don't particularly have a favourite. And yep, medium-size humanoid.
