Commuting GMs -- What do you do?

Okay, last night was my first session in a long time that I have ran but not hosted. I forgot how much stuff I had an how much I hate moving it.

I've already resolved to use my FDP counters instead of minis (except for the PCs, who have their own minis). I've condensed my stuff down to one crate, a laptop, and a backpack... but still feel rather budened.

So GMs... how much stuff to you bring to a game? Any travel tips?

One way to cut down on stuff, if you know someone else is bringing "such and such" book, then don't bother bringing your copy. Like the players handbook for example.

Yes, try to get players to bring as much as they can.

My "commuting load", either for DMing or Playing, is a laptop, a briefcase, and my palm pilot. I can normaly fit all the books and notes I need for one session in a briefcase.

I take the 3 core rulebooks, whatever adventure we're playing, relics & rituals and then only whatever books are needed for what we're doing.

Although I do prefer to play at my place for ease of books at hand.

I try to put everything I need in my notes so I don't have to use books. All the useful tables that aren't on the screen I photo copy and place in the notebook. Usually, I've found there isn't much I need to reference in my games, anyway.
