I like kensanata's map best, but I'm confused/disappointed that no one used a hex-grid. Were you instructed not to, or did everybody just decide not to?
PBartender, I voted for you (loved the map, although I thought the choice for the ocean color was a bit off from what I'd like, JMNSHO though), but I gotta say: you have tough competition with Tovokas. In any case, good luck to all!
I voted for Pbartender's because of the flavor it inspired, although Tovokas' is pretty awesome. I loved HALL's, but it isa bit to "busy" IMO. But it really made me want to use it for a military campaign.
Wow those are all great. Wish I had just 1/100th of that talent.
Tovokas won my vote cause I like that style but all of them were great.
Sometimes I hate that you can only pick one.
I didn't use a grid because maps in the old days didn't have grids either. I prefer my maps ungridded and I have a transparency sheet to place over them with the grid. Plus, gridded maps just look ugly IMO.
In my instance, at least, it'd make the map look awfully silly and ruin the style/flavor/feel of the map.
What's more, I purposefully left off the mile markers -- "One week's journey by horse from Gate Pass to Calanis, down the mountains and through the forsest to the coast" is all you really all you need to know.
