Reupdated the Index and just noticed I'd accidentally overwritten Post #2 with Post #1 the last time I did the update.

No irreparable harm done.

I have an archive of this thread to I just reoverwrote Post #2 with the original text.

Just wanted to raise something about the original Pack Lizard aka Lizard, Subterranean presented in AD&D 2e Menzoberranzan Boxed Set 1063 book one page 91. The pack lizard is a completely different type of 'Subterranean Lizard' described in 3.5e Drow of the Underdark page 134, any plans to have a proper Pack Lizard stat block in 3.5e?

Posting here since the orginal thread is locked. If the wrong thread please move this to the right one.

Keep up the great work.

<EDIT> Ignore found the 3e version in Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Book.

The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting version has a lot of differences to the 2E AD&D original. So many in fact I'm tempted doing a homebrew conversion now.

Oh, the FRCS stats are 3.0. If you include the 3.5 Update it becomes:

Pack Lizard
Large Animal
Hit Dice: 8d8+40 (76 hp)
Initiative: +1
Speed: 30 ft., climb 30 ft.
Armor Class: 15 (-1 size, +1 Dex, +5 natural), touch 10, flat-footed 14
Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+17
Attack: Bite +13 melee (2d6+10)
Full Attack: Bite +13 melee (2d6+10)
Space/Reach: 10 ft./5 ft.
Special Attacks:
Special Qualities:
Saves: Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +3
Abilities: Str 25, Dex 13, Con 21, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 2
Skills: Climb +18, Hide +3*, Listen +6, Move Silently +5, Spot +6
Feats: Alertness, Power Attack, Weapon Focus (bite)
Environment: Any underground
Organization: Solitary
Challenge Rating: 3
Treasure: None
Alignment: Always neutral
Advancement:
Level Adjustment:

Related to the giant lizards found in some surface lands, this creature averages 15 feet long (plus tail) and 5 feet wide. The sticky pads on its feet allow it to walk freely over most floors, walls, and ceilings in the subterranean tunnels of the Underdark. Drow and other intelligent races of the Underdark frequently use the pack lizard as a beast of burden. A light load for one of these creatures is 800 pounds, a medium load is 1,600 pounds, and a heavy load is 2,400 pounds. On slopes between 45 and 90 degrees, the pack lizard can carry up to a medium load without falling. On slopes beyond the vertical (that is, when the lizard is upside-down), it can carry a light load without falling.

Skills: The pack lizard receives a +4 racial bonus to Hide and Move Silently skill checks. *In rocky areas or natural caverns, its Hide bonus improves to +8.

Note its skill ranks are Climb 3, Hide 2, Listen 3, Spot 3

Hi, thanks for that. Will make a note of it. Funnily enough been poking through Return to White Plume Mountain - noted that the Mud/Bog Mummy there is a 3rd edition one but no signs of a Bog Golem in 3e anywhere (closest I suppose is a Mud Golem but totally different), noted that these have been raised in past discussions.

Cheers

The Bog Golem in Return to White Plume Mountain is just a Clay Golem with one very minor tweaks to the stats: its Armour Class is 6 rather than 7.

I don't know if i should post this here, but did not know where to. The Nyraala "Golem" in the creature catalog is a made into a 3.5 construct, but If you ignore the added 2e name and judge by properties, a Nyraala is an aberration, not a golem. See Nyraala as this should be an Aberration (Shapechanger) as it possess a unique alternate form, and not a construct. Even in the 2e version it has partial golem-like immunities and is clearly not an actual or proper golem. It changes forms, and the adamantine DR does not fit in 3.5 as its not hard shell creature.
Its a bio-engineered living organism created through illithid psionic manipulation. These creatures are amalgamations of humanoid flesh, psionically-active mind flayer mucus, and rare Underdark fungus that blooms only once per decade. The result is a disturbing aberration with limited construct-like properties.
They are living organisms with some construct-like immunities granted
through their unnatural creation process. They should properly have been called "nyraala guardians," though the misnomer of golem persists due to their golem-like mindlessness and immunity profile.
