COMPLETELY unnattached to life.

Gibberlings, for the sheer mindless swarm mentality.

As for self sacrificing, nihilistic, but presumabaly intelligent humanoids, how about mogrelfolk cultists. Mongrelfolk are generally not braveherated, but maybe theyve come under the influence of a Kali-like death cult.

Or maybe they think that killing enemies gives them strength- I think there was something klke this in Gene Wolfe's The Knight, the Osterlings, a cannibal race who tried to become more human by eating the flesh of humans.

Of course you could apply this to any mook, but mongrelfolk seem more susceptible to this sort of thing maybe.

Or in a nod to World of Warcraft you could just have a flood of gnomes.. the horror, the horror.

For reasons I cannot state because my players are present, I need some humanoids with absolutely no care for life.

And evil.

The kind who would jump off a cliff holding their spear hoping to wound an enemy if it gave them the slightest better chance of hitting. The kind who would feed themselves to a large animal to slow it down. Fearless.

Baddies that see 35 of their brethren slain in a row by one guy and think "I better rush hi too!"

Remember that general in LoTR that didn't blink when the huge pieve of cornice was fung amongst them a few feet from him? That guy, but more like a mook.

Small or medium, 1 HD, combat opriented and insane by all modern, western standards.

Which humanoid race do you think best fits this?

A lot of gliberling from 2nd edition :) these beast dont care for their own life and rampage their target no matter what hehehe

Get a bunch of goblins with 1 cross class rank in use magic device. Give them fireball scrolls. use scroll within 20' of party.
Or just give them each a necklace of missiles with a single bead on it. When they see the party, pull the bead off and hold it, run up and combat the party. When they are killed, the bead falls from their hands...

...or run up and throw the bead at their own feet.

I like the Viking Lemming Kobold idea myself, although the seed-pod-head people has some interesting possibilities. ("Go ahead, kill us. More shall spring from this soil!") Especially backed by SPHP Druids who can Plant Growth those seeds to adulthood in a very short period of time. (No Clerics for the SPHP - just Druids!)

IMC, Kobolds only live to be 6-8 years old and their eggs can hatch and the young prosper without any adults around to teach them. Perhaps an interesting twist on this would be to make Kobolds part of a great oversoul that was constantly rebirthing itself into the world, complete with a basic knowledge and speech. Kobolds do not fear death because they will simply return to the oversoul.

So they have no fear of throwing themselves away, as you say, to slow down the enemy or simply wound him. They have little sense of individuality. At this, Kobolds would be fanatical group soldiers without the slightest need for (or perhaps even interest in) self-preservation.

Gnolls have 2HD, but otherwise they're pretty close. They're all fanatical servitors of a demon prince (Yeenoghu).
Depends on how you want to play them. The MM entry is pretty vague, allowing you to play them different ways. But, your idea throws out the whole "ambush predator" thing if you play them this way.

Could work, though.
