Computer problems

First Post
I just got a home pc (previously was relegated to checking these boards from work

) and am having a problem with the display of background colors when I am online. For example the screen I'm looking at as I type this is white, instead of black as it appears on every other computer I've used. The text also seems to be too big. The "ingnore colors specified on web page" under internet options is not checked, am I'm not sure what could be causing this.

I don't know a whole lot about computers and if anyone could offer any suggestions I'd sure apreciate it. Thank's for the help

P.S. To clarify, I'm having the same problem with all websites, not just this one.

I use firefox and sometimes it is still white. I think it just doesn't load completly. The black part is a graphic that does not load sometimes.

On IE, under view, there's a text size option. Best thing to do is set it to medium. If the text is too big, that's often what got change (Same with too small). Some websites set it themselves, which is irritating.

Sometimes pages don't load like they're supposed to. Usually corrected by reloading the page in your browser.

I know. I was sharing the fact that it does it with firefox from time to time. If it does happen I just reload and most of the time its ok.

Usually they don't load correctly due to a bandwidth problem or some other timeout. Reloading should fix it.

I occasionaly have to go to the front page and go back in to get to some places. Don't know why, but the links don't work right occasionaly unless I do that, though that's more of a problem with an older IE version at work.
