They're finally reproducing all of the Conan stories in the US too as well as reproductions of the Conan the Barbarian comics (and they look great!).

I can't wait for the game! It will be well-worth the $31 online..but I get my playtest copy for free.

It's got a lot of cool new concepts in it that DM's will find useful no matter what campaign world they run in.

When I think of Dark High Fantasy, I think of Elric. Fantasy in the old world meaning of fantastic. The dark brooding anti-hero with real problems and intellectual depth always drew me more than the barbarian types. Room for all I say, but I favor Elric on this one. (those of you who like Elric & Moorcock - how about Zelazny & Brust?)

I voted Elric. Infernal might is always kewler than bikinis

edit: Infernal might can COMMAND the service of the binkini-clad ones. :D

Thats not entirely true... sure the first inspiration came from Conan, but Forgotten Realms was partialy inspired by Moorcock's work. When Ed Greenwood first concieved the Realms he based part of the original patheon on the gods of Elric's world... Arioch before it became a published setting was but one of the few Ed barrowed.

You don't know who Col_Pladoh is, do you? :) (Gary Gygax) D&D is the game, FR is just a setting. :)

Ha. Thanks for clearing that up for him. I chuckled inwardly at the irony of the disagreement. :)

Good to see you still around, Colonel.

I liked both stories, but agnst ridden characters are a tad more interesting.

Guess that's why Vampire sucked me (get it?) so easily away from D&D back
in 1995. :D
