CONAN: Shadizar map debacle?

It reminds me of that scene from "Chasing Amy" where the "Inker" is getting crap for not doing original stuff...

Let's just hope that this is the only time this sort of thing has happened with this aurhor (or this editor for that matter).

what has he done?

He did the excellent maps for my Morningstar Setting. No matter what people have thought of the setting, they've always said the maps were great. This is a real shame.

Edit: I know the maps in Morningstar were original because he worked from my 1st drafts, which are on my desk beside me.

I have the book, the maps were good.

It appears that Mongoose has commissioned Ed Bourelle to do the replacement map. Anybody know his work?

Ed has also done the dungeon tiles for Fiery Dragon's Battlebox and the (appropriately named) Adventure Tiles: Dungeons box.

He also did Green Ronin's Dungeons of Doom and his work can be found in several Necromancer Games products.

He rocks! (IMO)

Not to defend what happened, but I know that Clayton recently had some major health issues that were pretty severe and probably were a factor in what lead up to the incident. He is still a very talented artist regardless of what happened with Mongoose.

I'm certain you will see his work again in future projects down the road once he is able to get his self and his work back into top form should he want to do more cartography work. The key is being able to manage his workload properly so incidents like this never happen.
