I once made a guy wait for 2-3 hours for his character to be introduced (the other PCs kinda got in the way) but it was worth it for him. The look on the other players' faces was priceless.

Not sure how that was supposed to be funny, but then I've never understood why it is supposed to be more acceptable and/or somehow humorous for that to happen to inmates - seems to be that its horrible when it happens to anyone, regardless of whether they've been found guilty of a crime themselves.
