I spent a little bit of time trying to puzzle out the formula for golem craft DCs after we got costs sort of straightened, but not caster levels. I'd be happy to try, though. Would help to have more data -- seem to recall that there are a number of golems in MoF, as well as MM2 (?). Can someone tell me the following info for the golems not in the SRD: HD, CR, size, cost, caster level, craft DC?

I have the constructs book now and all the formulas are in there :)

I dunno what I can or cannot post or even to give hints (at least on the boards, you are welcome to email me).

You're talking about the Mongoose book? Encyclopedia Arcane: Constructs?

No need to post anything from there, but it would be cool if you'd look through and tell us what bits are Open Game Content, since we were discussing that a couple of days ago.

And I reiterate that I do not know anyting of the OGL and what is ir isn't allowed out so I cannot post anything that would deem harmful to myself.

I'm not asking you to do anything potentially actionable, I swear. :)

One of the requirements of the OGL is that all Open Game Content be "clearly identified." Generally, you'll find a couple of paragraphs alongside the OGL itself in the back of the book that say, "everything in gray boxes is OGC," or "we tell you at the beginning of each chapter what bits are OGC." In the past, Mongoose has put a note at the bottom of some pages, declaring them OGC.

What I'm interested in is just an idea of what sort of material they've included as OGC. Not a reprint or anything.

please evaluate my version of the wood golem i just posted and tell me what you think of it. ;)

OK Boz...according the the book...the Large Wood golems get 8d10 HD, -1 Init (thats seems ok), 20 ft speed (ok), 19 AC (-1 Dex, -1 Size, +11 Natural), 2d8+6 damage, 22 str, 8 Dex.

OK...they get 1 special ability, requires the Craft skill (either carpentry or woodworking), DR 15/+1, Darkvision, Fire Vulnerability, Magic Immunity and 2 slam attacks.

DC check is 13.

Ok the costs are as follows by the book :) : 1000 xp and 50000 gp. Body cost is 500 gp.

The fire seeds would be the special ability gained by a wood golem.

Like I say, this is by the book so your verison is not that far from what the book would have produced :)

I sent an email off to MGP to ask what parts are OGC. When I get a respose I will let you know.

Huh. Okay. It really does say so right in the book, though. It has to in order to be compliant with the OGL. But thanks for all of the extra effort, I guess. :)
