Yes but Kord is also sort of the ideal patron god of Barbarians everywhere. I think he's a rather likeable god, the kind you could have a beer with and likes pretty bargirls not droning on about his own divine coolness.

Plus he's a solid deity for athleticism, physical excellence, competition (as opposed to war), etc.

He's on the list of deities that make sense for a semi-realistic society, sort of like having Yondolla as an agriculture/family/fertility goddess and Moradin as a god of craft.

Though in the end I guess it goes back to the idea that adventuring is the sole driving force behind civilization. :p

(Damn you for making me jaded, anthropology class.)

Eberron fixed that in two ways.

First, no "real" racial deities. (Many "deities" aren't deities, but are somehow able to grant spells. Which is why I don't feel the need to throttle the Undying Court. Plus throttling undead doesn't work.)

Second, there's a "good" and "evil" pantheon, the Sovereign Host (good) and the Dark Six (bad). There's a deity for (among other things, farming) among the Sovereign Host. Human farmers pray to this deity, but so do many non-humans. This way, there's no need for an elven farming deity, a halfling farming deity, a human farming deity, etc. Elves might worship this deity differently from a halfling, but it's still the same deity.

Tiamat the Evil Rainbow Dragon, BEGONE.

And both Erythnul and Kord need to be fused into a CN god of Barbaricness. You know, the one that drinks with Olidammara, chases Eilistraee and Sune's skirts, and beats the snot out of either Hextor or Heironeous depending on who is more sanctimonious that day. So everyone, welcome Korythnul!
