Next campaign, I'm going to make the kobolds a race of degenerate, half-crazed worshippers of an entity from the Far Realm known as Cthulmak.

Man, why are some of the best deities (Lolth, Vecna, St. Cuthbert) so damned unpopular? Are PCs just lashing out at those who have made life miserable for them in the past?

Because Lolth has accumulated layer upon layer of cheese over the years and Vecna belongs in the game as a mysterious lich, not as a wildly unmysterious god. St. Cuthbert, I've got no idea.

St Cuthbert is next on the hit list. Did you know that Durham University in the UK actually has a St Cuthbert's College? How the D&D players keep a straight face I don't know... I had a serious fit of the giggles on a 5-day course
