Considering how quickly the other racial deities got booted, I'm surprised by the amount of love (or at least, lack of hate) for Moradin. Is he just gliding under the radar or is there something less objectionable about him than the others?

He's effectively the god of Ale, Swearing, Hammers and Assorted Sears Hardware, and rolling your "R's".

And if this guy were to worship a DnD god, it would be Moradin.

People seem to dislike the deities I like. My top 4 to stay would have been Pelor, Vecna, Bahamut, and Tiamat.

I can get behind unicorn hate though. In fact, when it comes to unicorns, I dislike the fact that they're listed as good creatures at all. In my world view, the interesting thing about unicorns is that they're MONSTROUS SAVAGE BEASTS that will not hesitate to RUN YOU THROUGH WITH THE GIANT SPEAR ON THEIR FOREHEAD yet are somehow charmed by innocence. I'd rate them as evil, myself, or neutral at best. Any goddess that promotes happy fuzzy huggable unicorns has got to go.

I don't disagree that Tiamat works well as a giant evil dragon to kill, but I don't see why that means she can't also be a god. What's wrong with god-slaying? Happens all the time in mythology, and even modern fiction...

More personality than his good guy god counterparts. While you can't necessarily picture what the other gods are doing, at any given moment, you know what Moradin is doing: Pulling off a non-self-pitying Hephaestus imitation, which is all to the good.

Looks like Tiamat and either Pelor or Ehlonna are on the way out this time. From comments made this thread I'm guessing that Nerul and Gruumsh don't have long to last after these others are gone. This leaves: Boccob, Erythul, Fharlanghn, Heironeous, Hextor, Kord, Moradin, Obad-Hai, Olidamarra, and Wee Jas. But I note that of these, those with the least votes at present are: Hextor, Heironeous, Boccob, Moradin, and Obad-Hai - suggesting that these will be amongst the last to go.

These deities are interesting in their own ways. Obad-Hai is a virtually perfect neutral nature deity. Moradin is the only racial deity remaining (dwarves). Boccob is the necessary deity of magic - and in some people's view one of the better ones, due to his neutrality. Hextor and Heironeous have a long and well known conflict and in some respects represent the opposite aspects of war (chaotic slaughter, organized strategy - rather akin to the difference between Ares and Athena, actually).

Of those that almost make the grade, we have: Erythul, Fharlanghn, Kord, Olidamarra, and Wee Jas - deities of malace, travel, strength, trickery, and death / magic.

It will be interesting to see how the current seeming pattern / balance changes over the next few polls. I image that once Tiamat, Pelor, Ehlonna, Nerul, and Gruumsh are out of the way the votes will fall more heavily upon the lower tiers - likely changing the balance notably in the process.

I voted to remove Boccob. Mages don't need deities. A mage can worship a deity, but that should have nothing to do with arcane magic.
I dunno, I think magic is iconic enough in a D&D universe to merit a deity. Boccob's pretty dishwater dull, though, particularly since he's essentially just a deific version of one of Greyhawk's big neutral mages.

Well he could be worse. He could be Mystra. She's the #1 deity on the chopping block! (As far as I'm concerned.)
