I'm increasing 2D6 up three times (Large > Huge > Gargantuan > Colossal). AFAIK, the 3.0 and 3.5 DMGs both have the same end result, just a bit different on the way there. I also for the life of me couldn't find a chart in the 3.5 DMG, though it was in the 3.5 PHB. It gets a bit odd though when I compared to Arms & Equipment Guide, but I just wanted to be sure. Anyway:
3.0 DMG - Page 162
2D6 > 2D8. Plugged 2D8 back in the middle of the chart to get 4D6. 4D6 plugged back in gets 4D8.
3.5 PHB - Page 114
2D6 (M) > 2D8 (L). Nothing for anything beyond Large so I just plugged in 2D8 again in (M) and got 4D6. D6 (M) goes back to D8 again, and end result is 4D8.
Arms & Equipment Guide
Instead of only having three columns for smaller, regular, and higher, it has seven columns to move the increases in a straight row. So, moving down the row 1D6 > 1D8 > 2D6 > 3D6. Doubled means 6D6?
The difference is only 4 pts (32 vs 36) but it irks me. Thanks.
