Coup de Grace and how it should change

If you hero is talking with some villian, then the villian snaps his fingers and 12 guys with bows pop up, he should have to surrender, right? but if half of them hit (very generous) and do 1d6 each, that 21 damage and hardly anyone cares.

So make each attack a critical threat. that's suddenly 24d6..which is scary.

heheheh, I can imagine

the fingers snap
bad guy: "you're finished"
PC: "No, you can't do anything.. right GM"
Me: "what are you going to do"
PC: "I charge him"
Arrows: THUNK
Me: "whoa, thats 50 damage... you're dead"
Jeph: "what, that doesn't figure, if you add the..."
Everyone: "SHUTUP JEFF"
Me: "I wouldn't try doing that again if I were you"
bad guy: "what about the rest of you, do you surrender"
PC:

I don't know what would happen then, but that would be fun, heheh

I like rouge sneak attack, it makes them slightly more powerful, but have to use more strategy... plus it makes their coup de grace a whole bunch more powerful!:D
