Craft Magic Arms and Armor

Should the requirements for this feat be changed? I look at it and feel that there should be two different requirements. Either spellcaster 5th level or Craft Arms/Armor skill rank of 15 or higher.

That way my dwarves can create magic weapons without having to be spellcasters.

Opinions?

Quite a good idea. You could actually make it so that you could do this for all items. Craft (cobbler) for shoes etc. The only problem is that for many things you might need a spell anyway. It would take a few house rules, but it would allow you to have someone be renowned for his magic rings, and rings alone etc.

It shouldn't unbalance things in any case, as long as it still costs them XP and cash.

I don't have a problem with this, as long as the Dwarf has a friendly spellcaster available during the actual crafting (to meet those requirements).

I never made it an "official" house rule in my campaign, but it's always been my intent to do something like this. It just hasn't come up because our dwarf has tried yet.
