Crafting Magic Armor

Hello all,

I just have a quick question to ask.

When crafting magic armor in D&D 3.5, how would you add a spell effect to the suit of armor or shield?

For example, how much would it cost to put Flamestrike 1/week on a shield? Or Mass Heal 1/week?

I've exhausted all my D&D sources and can't find any mechanics that govern placing spells on Armor and Shields. Maybe I've overlooked it, idk.

Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't seen mechanics specifically for that, either. You might just treat it as any other non-body-slot spell effect item, though I'm not sure about the once weekly part. Assuming a command word, my first guess would be:

SL x CL x1800 x2 /35

... where:
(1) 1800 is for being command word
(2) x2 is for no bodyslot (maybe x1.5 for non-standard bodyslot)
(3) /35 is just a first guess for per-week (since price is 1/5 for a once-a-day, and so 1/7 of that result is a once-per-week effect??)

That once-a-week bit is odd, and I really don't now how to price it: dividing by 35 might make it too cheap; maybe chop it to 15 or something? Best shot maybe to compare against another armor with a similar power effect. But this probably really just a DM ruling.

Anyway, maybe that's a starting point, Hopefully sbdy else has more helpful info...
