Creating a monk with damage.

All combat maneuvers are out, you generally can't even try them on things more than one size larger than you. And with the size modifiers...you wouldn't want to try. Similarly, if the OP's really doing like 2 damage per hit, I doubt he even has the strength for power attack. Not that taking a big attack penalty on a class already imfamous for missing a lot is a great idea to begin with, IMO.

I stand by my statement. Completely rebuild, or salvage what you have by going into a casting class or Rogue so you can attack a crapload of fixed damage dice to your pathetic fist damage.

It's a hard fact, but one every monk player needs to learn. Monks really really benefit from size and strength as much as the Fighter and Barbarian, possibly more. Making a low Str "technique" or "defensive" monk CAN work, but it's such a ridiculously uphill battle it's not really worth trying. Also, OP, what books do you have access to? Splat books added a ton of things to help smaller melee types hang with the big guys, but the core does pretty much jack to help you out. If you're limited to PHB, DMG, and Monster Manual...it's a lost cause with this character, sorry.
