Knight Otu

First Post
A little guy (or gal) that looks a little like a gnome, with moss and plants instead of hair, green or brown eyes and an affinity for plants. spends it's time tending to the plants of it's habitat.

We're in the design process for a fey creature based on a concept by Krishnath, and this poll is designed to get an idea for the special abilities of the creature. The more votes an ability gets, the more likely our creature will have that ability, and vice versa (A different poll will be used to get an idea of the general attributes the creature will have).

Don't be afraid to vote, even if you did not vote in the previous poll.

Note that you can vote for multiple items.

Treants speak their own language, plus Common and Sylvan.

Animate Bonsai (Sp): A Bonsai Treant can animate Bonsai trees within 15 feet at will, though
only controlling one tree at a time. It takes a full round for the Bonsai to uproot itself.
Thereafter it moves at a rate of 5 and fights as a Bonsai Treant in all respects. Animated
Bonsai trees lose their ability to move if the Bonsai Treant who animated them in incapacitated
or moves out of range. The ability is otherwise similar to the abilitiy liveoak as cast by a
12th level Druid.

Trample (Ex): A Bonsai Treant or animated Bonsai can trample fine creatures for 1d8-3.
Opponents who do not make attacks of opportunity against the Bonsai Treant or animated Bonsai
can attempt a reflex save (DC 20) to halve the damage.

Double Damage against Objects (Ex): A Bonsai Treant that makes a full round attack against an
object or structure deals double damage.

Plant: Immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, and
polymorphing. Not subject to critical hits.

Fire Vulnerability: A Bonsai Treant or animated Bonsai takes double damage from fire attacks
unless the attack allows a save, in which case it takes double damage on a failure and
no damage on a success.

Half Damage from Piercing (Ex): Piercing weapons only deal half damage to a Bonsai Treant,
with a minimum of 1 point of damage.

Skills: Treant receive skills as though they were fey*. They have +16 racial Hide bonus to
checks made in forested areas.

Pystins Creature.

Ability to summon small plants and some plant related spells sounds the best to me.

Ferret: Cool creature, you should post it in homebrews. :D

of course, you know, you don't have to make the monster exactly as these polls came out... i never did. ;) if a tree stride sounds like a great idea, but you only get one vote for "other" don't discount it - discuss it! :)

I have no intention of dismissing the ability. :)

Indeed, given the number of votes for mobility and highly magical in the other thread, it is very fitting! :)

Special ability: Photosynthesis - can use Sunlight for fuel (doesn't need to eat) and can regenerate 2 in sunlight

Special Ability: Thorns - a Green Gnome can manifest thin sharp thorns along its arms gaining +2 Nat Armour and causing 1d3 damage.

Did you want to vote for Other? I don't see an increase in the Other votes.

This poll is going quite nice, I guess we can kill it tomorrow. :)

Spells, like gnomes, and spell-like abilities, like all fey have. Tree stride is really nifty. Speak with animals, plants, and rocks (as in stone tell) as an extraordinary ability.

Otherwise, plant sumoning (shambling mounds, tendriculos, maybe one or two from the Tome of Horrors, and maybe also, if they are say, 5 or more acting together, treant summoning).

Or perhaps awaken (plant only) once per month.
