Critical Role Issues Statement

I think I'd like to see some actual quoted examples of Manichean purity test talk.

I'm reading the exact same thread and all I'm getting is "huh, not much there, that's fair" or "huh, not much there, kinda disappointing" or "there's a soupçon of pro-3pp sentiment, not bad".

But that complaint is a bit implausible, isn't it? In what way are any changes to WotC's licensing arrangements meant to affect the ability of others to film themselves playing D&D and sell access to those films?

Is there an argument that I've missed that what Critical Role does is derivative of some WotC copyright, such that it would be infringing in the absence of a copyright licence? Or that it involves some sort of unlicensed use of a WotC-owned trademark?
