CSI New York

Dark Jezter

First Post
Well, last night was the series premiere of CSI New York. This thread is for people to discuss what they thought about it.

I really like it so far. Detective Mac Taylor (played by Gary Sinese) makes a great main character (I already like him a lot more than Horatio Caine), and the supporting cast seems pretty interesting as well. If the first episode is any indication, it looks like CSI New York could be a bit darker and gritter than the two other CSI series. I know that "gritty New York crime dramas" are an overused genre, but I'll definately be checking out this series some more.

The only thing I really didn't like was the overuse of blue filters on the camera lens. Still, it's something I can live with.

I hate to dissagree, but in my opinion CSI NY is the worst of the trio right now. Even H. Caine has the disdainfull look he gives at least once an episode, NY did not even have that.

The characters have no personality, the science was way too far fetched, and I doo agree here the coloring of every scene was tailored to depress.

The only time that we even got a peek of Gary Sinise's character was within the last ten minutes of show.

Now I do have brand loyalty, so I will watch a couple more weeks worth of episodes. I hope it does turn around though, I do like Gary Sinise as an actor and want to see more of him on the small screen.

Its too early to judge. I do like the cast as many of the actors I know from elsewhere and that is a strong indiciation it has potential. Last night's story was not that interesting, but I'll give it a few episodes at least to find its grove.

Overall I was non-plussed.

While I found what the villian was doing to be very creepy, the rest of the show left me wishing I was watching CSI (Las Vegas). And I really hate the use of the blue filter.

I think I'll end up watching Law and Order until the repeats happen then switch to CSI: NY.

Unfortunately Wednesday night is my game night so I'll not be getting to see this anytime soon. But I did like the crossover episode CSI Miami did earlier this year.
