Curse of House Thimbrall (orsal judging)

Boog's brow creased; he stood his ground. Those standing near him heard another soft chime inside their heads.

Kamdar starts to move to the next room, then catches himself. "And who would your master be? What can you tell us about the trinket?"

Gerald's eyes move back and forth between Kamdar and Boog. "I believe my master is the enemy of your master," he says awkwardly in reply to Kamdar. Turning back toward Boog, he implores, "But you have no ill will toward me, do you?"

"Oh, no, no", came Boog's reassuring reply. "Just tell these folks the truth about the amulet and why you are here, and I assure you, they won't harm you." Boog tried to hide his apprehension at the man's behavior. "He seems charmed", the telepath thought, "unless he's aware of what I'm trying to do and trying to play along". Boog resigned himself to the situation...either way, he'd find out soon enough.

"If I help you, I cannot return to my master. He will kill me." As he speaks, he reaches into a pocket in his robe and pulls out an amulet. "This Thimbrall -- does he pay you well for your service?"

Boog: [sblock]He seems earnestly to trust you, and specifically you, so if he's faking it it's a very good bluff check.[/sblock]

Levin, Jann: [sblock]As he reaches for the amulet, you notice another amulet on a necklace he's wearing. It had been concealed by his robe until now.[/sblock]

As Ridik sees the amulet his eyes stare at it. "So, that's the amulet? It would be for that we are here? Can we take a look at it? I am curious to see what make that amulet so interesting for our employeer."

"Hmm, if you don't mind, I'd like to check that amulet out," says Jann, nodding at the amulet in Gerald's hand. Taking a deep breath and summoning his power, he lets loose a stream of nonsensical syllables and traces an octogram in the air. Then he opens his eyes and examines the amulet. Out of the corner of his eye, he also looks at Gerald to see what, if anything, he has been hiding so far.

Boog shrugged. "He pays well enough", he replied. "And if you were to help lift the curse on him, I'm sure he'd be greatful to you, regardless of what else you might have done to help Xyran. You do work for Xyran, don't you? Since you're already committed, you might as well tell us about Xyran...it would only make you look better in our eyes and Thimbrall's eyes."
