Curse of House Thimbrall (orsal judging)

Boog shrugged. "He pays well enough", he replied. "And if you were to help lift the curse on him, I'm sure he'd be greatful to you, regardless of what else you might have done to help Xyran. You do work for Xyran, don't you? Since you're already committed, you might as well tell us about Xyran...it would only make you look better in our eyes and Thimbrall's eyes."

"Xyran is my master's name. I see you already know quite a bit about him. He is a powerful man, a great master of the arcane art of life and death. But he is vengeful. I shall help you, but if I do I can never return home. If I can share in your reward, I can make myself a new life."

Jann: [sblock]You detect magical auras around Gerald. I'll assume you keep concentrating unless you tell me otherwise, and tell you the results of Rounds 2 and 3 of the spell the next time Gerald speaks or acts.[/sblock]

Boog glanced around at the other members of the little band, looking for approval. "Very well", he replied, "If you can hand me that amulet, I think we can cut you in for an equal share."

"Well, now, hold on just a second, Boog. I'm sorry, Gerald, but did you say that the amulet you're holding is the one we seek?" Jann plays for a little more time before making any commitments to Gerald, curious about what else the man may be hiding.

[sblock=ooc: ]Indeed concentrating for the next two rounds at least. He's also keeping some distance from Gerald, just in case.[/sblock]

ao'Thuir remains passively next to the doorway. He will not let this little man pass unless Boog and Kamdar ask him too. Leaving the talking to the others, he tries to hold in his mistrust of someone who can live here with the foul abominations that they had crushed earlier.

"Yes, this amulet holds the power to control the curse on this house and on the family Thimbrall. It must have been to recover it, and thus lift the curse, that your master sent me here. My master -- my former master -- wanted me to guard it."

Gerald seems to be talking mainly to Boog. While his answer does incorporate a reply to Jann, it is mostly Boog who holds his attention.

He hands the amulet to Boog. Does Boog take it from him?

Jann: [sblock]Three magical auras, at least one of which is strong.[/sblock]

ao'Thuir: [sblock]You hear some movement from the foyer behind you.[/sblock]

The eyes of Ridik follows teh amulet. He seems more absorbed by the amulet and what he can learn from where he is rather the discussion itself.

Boog gently accepted the amulet, and examined it for a moment before securing it for travel. "So this is what all the trouble is over", he said with a slow, sad shake of his head. "Well, Gerald, let's see if we can convince my other friends that you are worth your pay. Mr. Thimbrall promised us as pay anything of value that we found in this place - except the amulet, of course. It seems strange to loot the house of someone you're trying to help, but I'm sure he'd gladly part with every last brick of this heap to be rid of that curse. So, if you can show us where the valuables are, I can see about getting you a cut of their worth. The more we carry out, the bigger your share." Boog waited for the man's reply, and wondered to himself: "I wonder if he'll be so eager to start a new life for himself once that charm wears off in an hour or so."

ao'Thuir: [sblock]The sound comes from the three remaining zombies, who have apparently lost their fear of Russna. They can't reach you this round, but two of them will be within range next round. You could attack this round with a ranged weapon.[/sblock]

Jann: [sblock] The amulet which Gerald just handed Boog has a strong aura of necromancy. The one around his neck has a faint aura of abjuration. From a pouch or pocket in his robe you detect a faint aura, but can't determine what kind.[/sblock]

All: Gerald, in response to Boog's offer, says, "Sure. Let's do a tour of the house and see what we can find. We can begin here. He reaches behind the bed and picks up a small chest.
