Curse of House Thimbrall (orsal judging)

Boog reloads his crossbow.

Kamdar draws his rapier; we'll see when his turn comes next round how easily he can get into position to use it. That is what you meant by "a weapon", right? His song inspires all the living combatants.

Z3 tries to slam ao'Thuir, but the barbarian once again proves too tough an opponent (attack roll 11).

Levin, seeing it hard to join the fray, continues meditating, but still doesn't get sufficiently focused (Concentration check 17).

Ridik once again struggles with his mace, swinging it wide.

Keth throws his other axe at Z2, improving his aim (attack roll 10) but a near miss isn't good enough when it comes to killing monsters.

Jann continues to negotiate with Gerald.

"Not at all, sir. We were sent to collect one specific item; my only interest is to be absolutely sure that we acquire that particular item. Seeing everything that came from this house would be the only way that we can determine which piece it is that we need. That is all."

Gerald replies, "But I thought it was the amulet you wanted. I already gave it to your friend."

Z2 tries another slam attack against ao'Thuir, this time (attack 19, damage 8) more successfully.

Ao'Thuir responds forcefully slashing the zombie to bits. (damage 13, which is 12 more than needed to drop the foul mass of flesh).

Back to Boog and Kamdar again. Note that if Kamdar wants to move into the foyer to join the melee, he'll have to pass ao'Thuir, into the square where Z2 until recently stood or the one just east of it. This will provoke attacks of opportunity from the two surviving zombies.

Boog stepped back up to the doorway and took his best shot with the crossbow at one of the zombies, but missed horribly. He then stepped back to reload.

[sblock]I think there's the -4 penalty for firing into melee, but with a roll that low, it's a moot point. I think Boog is down to 6 bolts, with 2 potentially retrievable.[/sblock]

provided Kamdar does not move forward first. (feel free to) Ao'Thuir steps forward on top of the fallen zombie triumphantly to bring down his heavy sword on the next one (4). This time he shifts his stance, raising his sword above his head as he launches his attack power attack 2. His new stance rewards him nicely as the sword sinks deeply into his target.

Rolls: atk 21, dmg 19. only step in if required, otherwise continue attacking from where he is.

Taking back his balance, he attack blindly against the zombie and see his mace finally hit... "I got it down!" He then spot the large slash of Ao'Thuir that has killed the zombie a few moment ago. "Oops! That one already dead." (Att: 8, Dmg: 8)

OOC: That ridiculous, miss three time in a row, and the three time, my attack roll equal my damage.

"It is indeed possible that the amulet is what we seek; we only wish to compare the items so that we may be sure. I assure you, we have no intention of taking anything that belongs to you. We are honorable people, Gerald. We shall stick to our deal."

[sblock=OOC]I did mean my rapier, but I didn't intend to move forward--I know I can't do any damage to these dudes. Can I retrieve my whip from the (now fallen) zombie without provoking AoO's? Firstly, I'll continue singing. If I can't get my whip, I'm going to try to provide someone with an Aid Another bonus, although unsucessfully. Kamdar Aid Another (1d20+2=4)[/sblock]

I don't think three on two is the best odds. Pull that turning thing so the rest of us can get to the zombies.

Seeing that he cannot get to the zombies, Levin focuses his mind. He fails to fully energize himself.
Concentration +6: 5+6=11

First of all, am I correct that before this fight started, everyone was at full HP except Keth (8/12), Levin (9/16) and ao'Thuir (18/22)? In which case, ao'Thuir is now down to 5 HP.

Kamdar: I figure the zombie's countertrip could pull the whip out of your square. But it's long enough that it wouldn't all go back to Z2's square -- most likely the end is in ao'Thuir's square. You might be able to grab it as a standard action, but it would take a little finesse while ao'Thuir is sparring. So I'll say a DC 13 Sleight of Hand check. Roll it yourself if you decide you want to try it.

Boog's shot misses again.

Z3 slams ao'Thuir (attack roll 21) for 5 HP. Ao'Thuir is disabled.

Levin still fails to focus. Glad to see you're back fuzzy.

Z4 tries to slam Ridik, but the goblin's armor protects him well. attack roll 13.

Ridik returns the favour, also unsuccesfully.

Keth draws his greatsword, moves into the space of the fallen ao'Thuir, and swings at Z3. He connects (attack roll 18), doing 17 damage to the monstrosity. These zombies do seem to be tougher than the ones you met downstairs, though, and the creature is still on its feet.

Meanwhile, Jann is still talking to Gerald:

"I do not trust you. I trust your friend with the crossbow. When he is done shooting the zombies, we will see if he is les than satisfied with the amulet I gave him. The one I wear, I need to protect myself from the zombies."

With ao'Thuir down, we're back to Boog and Kamdar.

"The gift of Russna are limited. I can't use them at will. So that time, dispatch them before the effect wear off. Russna, protect that fallen man from these hideaous creature!" Ridik wait a moment, but see the zombie try to attack him again, so he step backward (5ft.) "See!"

OOC: Turning check result: 8 Turning dmg: 7

Back in the bedroom, Boog reloaded his crossbow. As he did so, he became aware of the conversation, the argument really, between Jann and Gerald. "Why don't you two give us a hand with the zombies?", he asked, somewhat irritated with what he percieved as an irrelevant squabble. "We'll have plenty of time to settle which amulet does what once this fight is over."
