With the 2024 character sheet, I notice the light gray line decorations are an esthetic choice. It resembles the lines of penciling and erasing numbers and sentences. The eraser will erase parts of the original ink of the character sheet, with an overall "distressed look" from the wear-and-tear use. The light gray decorations will probably pull it all together into an overall visual design.

Get off my lawn!
Which PDF editing program was used here? (If I may ask...
While I can't speak for @Horwath in making it form-fillable (I use Adobe Acrobat for that myself), the changes in the layout were done in Corel PaintShop Pro---but if I still had Adobe Photoshop I could have done it there, too.

My work was just manipulating the graphics and saving the revised image file in PDF format.

Sorry to be an ass, is it possible to get the boxes straightened on the official, fillable sheet?
Thats one reason I was asking which program they were using.
Agreed. While I definitely appreciate the effort that went into making these...
I would have used "X's", added other areas to type in, and aligned the boxes...Sadly, I don't have a paid version of Adobe to manipulate the boxes.

I would like to reiterate... I'm not bashing anyone's hard work... just noting my preferences.
These are still viable sheets!
