"Give me just a minute to go through all this..." Gannon says while reading the contract. He makes sure that their are no loop-holes in it to suddenly make them pay full price for the trip, what their rights are onboard the ship and so on. Assuming nothing's out of the ordinary, he looks at the others smiling and then at Jorune d'Lyrandar. "It all looks well and good, sir. I believe we'll take the job. I just want to know if there's a chance for further discount, if we run into extremely bad company such as sea monsters and the like? We're still paying to protect your ship, after all..."

Gannon: [Intelligence check] It seems fairly ordinary to you and, more or less fair.

Everyone: "In the event that anything unusual arises — mind you, lads, "unusual" most definitely does not include the sahuagin common to the waters between Sharn and Stormreach, as you can see in article VI, section 2 of your contract — either en route to Xen'drik or on the return trip, we most assuredly will reduce the cost." He pauses. "You will, of course, sign the contract. I'm assuming that you're the official broker for this crew? In any case, simply bring the contract, signed, with you to the House Lyrandar docks tomorrow morning — the ship you'll be sailing on is The Unexpected. The captain will give you your orders. Unless there's anything else..." He looks to the group, his eyebrows raised.

Plonk reads the contract, to make sure they aren't signing over their lives to the suspicious half-elf. "Never trust an elf as far as you can throw them," mutters Plonk.

Plonk: Your previous misgivings aside, you find that the contract checks out, and its even downright generous in some of its terms and conditions (particularly the clauses on access to the food stores and accidental death).

Rawhide spits on his hand and extends it to the half-elf, "Mes hired!" He continues to grin at the bearded fellow....

"It looks good, sir. I believe you just got yourself some skilled guards for this trip." Gannon reaches for a pen and some ink to sign the contract, signs the paper and hands it over to Jorune. "Do you mind keeping it and giving it to the captain of the ship? I got some business to attend to in the city before we leave and I wouldn't want it to get stolen during the day."

OOC: More precisely, Gannon would like to sell the +1 longsword and buy a fully charged wand of cure light wounds in a magic shop.

He shrugs and takes the contract. "Fair enough. Good luck, lads, and may you have fair winds and a following sea on your crossing."

OOC for MadMaxim: You can sell the longsword, but, with the time constraints imposed by the ship's time of departure, you only manage 40% of value. The wand of cure light is easier to find (House Jorasco's always about somewhere), and they're more than happy to sell you a wand of cure light at list price.

OOC for Everyone: Anything else you'd like to do with the remaining day? If not, I'll push things along the next time I post.
