[D&D 3.5/Eberron] Forgotten Forge [Full]

Obviously intended to be the brains and speaker of the party. Come 5th level I plan to branch out into healing; unfortunately I can't do it any sooner than that. I *really* resent the lack of a decent healer class that doesn't come saddled with god/nature worship overtones.

If you're willing, this concept would fit a Kalashtar really well. Let me know and I'll send you the information. :)

Best,
Nick

Yeah, me, too. :) I'm dogsitting this weekend (again), so I anticipate the chance to reread the ECS, Forgotten Forge, Shadows of the Last War, and the Eberron adventure in Dungeon (in between reading Eco's The Island of the Day Before and Order of the Phoenix -- it finally came out in paperback, so I'm finally reading it).

Best,
Nick

Kajamba, can I get some sort of scroll case for my PC? Just wondering before I finish off the rest of my equipment. Will check the thread again tommorow.

For those wanting to send me info, my e-mail is: dgmcnees@loyno.edu

I'd like some details on the new class and the 4 new races (especially the psionic one). I'd also like details on dragonmarks and action points; what are they, how do you get them and what do they do for you? Also, if there's a feat/piece of equipment/whatever that would allow a 1st-level psionics character to function effectively as a healer, please let me know. My impression is that Artificers have no special healing powers except in regards to Warforged, therefore we currently have no healing.

My cursory examination of Ashy's links (thanks!) suggests that, if properly built, our Warforged Wizard will be able to act as a second tank and our Artificer will be able to heal him. Is this correct?

Correct. :D

No Way: Sure. Do you have the FRCS? If so, it's in there (mine's packed away). If anyone else has one and can post the price for No Way, that'd be much appreciated.

Jarval: I will take a third alternate if you want to be one, so welcome aboard. :)

IdentityCrisis: I'll send you the information on the kalashtar. Dragonmarks are only available to dwarves, elves, gnomes, half-elves, half-orcs, halflings, and humans that take either the Aberrant Dragonmark feat or the Least Mark feat (there are other feats, but they're part of a chain). Higher level dragonmarks (Lesser, Greater, Siberys) have additional requirements -- skill ranks for the first two, and a PrC for the last. Dragonmarks grant a PC magical abilities and tie him to one of the Dragonmarked Houses (responsible for trade on Khorvaire -- each has a different focus). Each House is tied in turn to a race. That is, only halfings can take the Marks of Hospitality or Healing, and halflings that take either belong to House Jorasco or House Ghallanda. House Jorasco is responsible for treatment of injuries and wounds, basically replacing the function of a temple in most D&D games (an injured person is, according to the ECS, more likely to seek out healing from House Jorasco than from anywhere else, assuming that she doesn't have access to any methods of healing herself). House Ghallanda handles hospitality, running inns and taverns throughout Khorvaire and enforcing standards and checking up on the ones it doesn't run. If you end up being one of the dragonmarked races and want to take a dragonmark, let me know and I'll tell you what your options are.

Best,
Nick

IdentityCrisis: I forgot action points. First level PCs receive 5 action points, which can be spent to add the roll of 1d6 to any roll of 1d20 to help you make your roll better. You can only spend 1 ap/rnd when using them like this.

There are other uses, too:
  • Activate Class Feature: 2 ap to gain an additional use of any class feature that has a limited number of uses/day (like stunning fist or turn undead, for instance).
  • Hasten Infusion: 1 ap gives an artificer the ability to imbue an infusion in one round, regardless of casting time.
  • Stabilize: 1 ap to stabilize at your current hp total if dying.
  • Action Surge [feat]: 2 ap for an additional standard or move action in a round.

Also, the Heroic Spirit feat grants an extra 3 ap to characters per level. Some PrCs also let you use action points in different ways.

Best,
Nick

While he has no direct healing powers, he could create scrolls, and later (2nd level) potions, of healing. However, that takes the typical amount of time for item creation, and thus is not very useful in emergencies.

Pretty much, though I can also add Repair Light Wounds to my spellbook, so that I could provide some small amount of "healing" for myself.

I've decided to try the warforged wizard - originally meant to be a wizard/fighter, it came out of the forge as only a wizard with mithral lacing (15% failure for spells with somatic components).
I am a bit stumped on the name, which I'm normally not... tentatively I'm going with Flawed, because that is what it thinks it is. But I'm not quite happy with that.
