D&D 3.5, Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (Full)

You, my friend, are indeed too lenient. Anyways, I've been kicking around a few ideas in my head, and finally came up with something that I hope you'll approve. I've finished a character with the following variant prestige class, but I need you to approve this first. Here you go...

(Modified Virtuoso from CA(dventurer))
Requirements
Skills: Diplomacy 4 ranks, Intimidate 4 ranks, Perform (any) 8 ranks
Spells: Arcane caster level 1st

Code:
[B]Level BAB Fort	Ref Will Special Spellcasting[/B]
1 +0 +0 +2 +2 Enchanting Melody, Virtuoso	+1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
											   performance (persuasive song)
2 +1 +0 +3 +3 Compelling Music +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
3 +2 +1 +3 +3 (sustaining song) +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class

5 +3 +1 +4 +4 (jarring song) +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
6 +4 +2 +5 +5 -- +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
7 +5 +2 +5 +5 (song of fury) +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
8 +6 +2 +6 +6 -- +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
9 +6 +3 +6 +6 (mindbending melody) +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
10 +7 +3 +7 +7 (revealing melody) +1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class
Perform requirement reduced to 8 ranks.

No Bardic Music.

Virtuoso Performance: Once per day per virtuoso level, a virtuoso can use his song or poetics to produce magical effects on those around him (usually including himself, if desired). These abilities can all be activated by reciting poetry, chanting, singing lyrical songs, singing melodies, whistling, playing an instrument, or playing an instrument in combination with some spoken performance. Each ability requires a minimum number of ranks in the Perform skill to qualify; if a virtuoso does not have the required number of ranks in at least one Perform skill, he does not gain the virtuoso performance ability until he acquires the needed ranks.

Enchanting Melody (Sp): A virtuoso with 8 or more ranks in a Perform skill can use his music or poetics to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with him. Each creature to be fascinated must be within 90 feet, able to see and hear the virtuoso, and able to pay attention to him. The virtuoso must also be able to see the creature. The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents the ability from working. For every three ranks a virtuoso has in Perform, he can target one additional creature with a single use of this ability.

To use the ability, a virtuoso makes a Perform check. His check result is the DC for each affected creature's Will save against the effect. If a creature's saving throw succeeds, the virtuoso cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and listens to the song, taking no other actions, for as long as the virtuoso continues to play and concentrate (up to a maximum of 2 rounds per virtuoso level). While fascinated, a target takes a -4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Listen and Spot checks. Any potential threat requires the virtuoso to make another Perform check and allows the creature a new saving throw against a DC equal to the new Perform check result.

Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a ranged weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to one half of the character's virtuoso level, rounded down. Enchanting melody is an enchantment (compulsion), mind-affecting ability.

Musical Focus (Su): When casting a spell, the virtuoso may substitute singing, reciting poetry, or playing his instrument of choice for any material components costing 1 gp or less that the spell may require.

All Virtuoso Performance abilities have their Perform rank requirements decreased by 1. (So jarring song requires 14 Perform ranks rather than 15)

Notes: My goal with this is to have a full spellcaster with a musical twang (no pun intended). I figured that removing Bardic Music would balance out the full spellcasting progression and slightly lowered requirements. I plan to play a L6 Sorcerer/L5 (edited) Virtuoso and to continue gaining levels in Virtuoso. If Ferrix is using the variant sorcerer, I'd like to have the link to that page so I can make my sorcerer correctly. I APOLOGIZE FOR :):):):)ING YOU OVER BY SUBMITTING CHARACTER AFTER CHARACTER AFTER CHARACTER AND TRASHING EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN ONE. I HATE MYSELF FOREVER AND AM SENDING YOU A CHECK FOR $1000!!1 (I really am sorry)

Getting there, posted Hareka in the OOC thread proper. History should be forth coming, then I'll post in the IC thread.

I've just had a rough few weeks alongside finals. A break-up of a long (@ 3 year) relation, her moving out, me avoiding the bare apartment, all of these things has just been tweaking with my head atop of having to write papers when I don't even want to be home.

Oof. My condolences. Thanks for responding, though. I'd hate to lose you. As long as you plan to join us, that's fine. I may start without you and you can join in a little later.

It's come to this...

For reasons I'd rather not divulge, recent developments have made me incapable of devoting any amount of time to this.

Sorry for wasting your time, guys.

Very well. Alternate number 2! WampusCat has been emailed, I eagerly await his response. I'm just going to get the game on without him (or whoever becomes our final player). Let's do this. (Finally.)

Unleashed: You're on the list, mate.
