[D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Jude's timing is off, his reactions slow as his allies and the newcomers assault the orcs and the enemy counterattacks. The warrior draws his blade, determined to play a decisive part in this battle. He strides forward, up to the orc and stabs at the creature, but he almost trips on the fallen body lying at his feet. Recovering, Jude spins a step away and with a backhanded slash, catches the other orc by surprise.

"Come, face a true warrior and not some defenseless peasants!" he shouts, challenging the orcs.

I was going to make an update, but...
[sblock=renau1g & Korash]Hmm... looking at the power, since you both used the same one, are you sure you get to make a second attack if you miss on the first? Maybe I'm reading it wrong?[/sblock]

Nope you're right. I always thought it was an effect, but it appears to require you to hit with your first one [/sblock]

[sblock=IG]
Which is why I gave the option for moving during the AP. You can ignore the damage given for the second attack made during the Passing Attack.

Also on subject, if you miss the first attack, can you still shift?
[/sblock]

[sblock=korash]
The shift is part of the Hit description, so no, for the same reason that you don't get the secondary attack. Of course, IG is free to rule otherwise.[/sblock]

[sblock=Mid]

Thats what I thought.

Just in case it is me that is holding up play, Vatan will move to F5, swing and miss N1. He will then burn an Action point and move to E6. From there he will cleave through O1 and into G1.

Rolls as posted above.

[sblock=OOC]I'm the one holding things up. I plan on updating both of my games either tonight or tomorrow, but we all know how plans go. Just know that I haven't abandoned anything, and we WILL move on... eventually.[/sblock]

[sblock=Vatan]Your initial shift was your move action. Since your attack missed, you don't get the shift that comes with it. Using an AP will allow you to either move again or to attack again, but not both. Since you can't cleave from where you're at, and since you wouldn't be able to after the second move, I'll assume Vatan would rather stay where he's at and try again nect round. In the interest of moving things along, that's what I've done, and you still have your action point.[/sblock]

Jude and Vatan both advance with well-practice routines, but neither's attack seems to be able to find a mark.

Two of the orcs each raise a massive crossbow to waist level and loose the bolts into the foray. Thankfully, none of the projectiles hit anything.

Another points a gnarled finger at O'Beth, and the cleric begins to feel more vulnerable.

The brutish of the orcs slashes at Vatan with a large falchion. The blade connects, but thanks to O'Beth's magic the wound isn't as bad as it should have been.

Another orc is surprised as O'Beth rounds the corner, and manages a good blow to the holy man. As the cleric's magic absorbs the blow, the staggers backward in shock.
