[D&D-BECMI] Interest Check

First Post
Recent events spurred the Monkey to grab a couple of older edition PDFs before he lost the chance (got in just under the wire, too).

One of those was the old D&D Rules Cyclopedia (the "BECMI" version of D&D, compiled into one volume).

So, how much interest would there be in a PbP using that ruleset?

As an FYI, I would add a few houserules (nothing that would change the basic rules, just some additions and clarifications here and there) and the game would be set in a setting of my own creation.

So, interest? Yes? No? Maybe?

I played RC some back in the early 90s, so I know the game in general. I've definitely forgotten a lot in the meantime!

What is the setting? I'm quite interested as I am running my own BECMI here, but not yet committed until I get more juicy details. How will character generation be handled? Starting at level one I assume? Your own DnD setting or run by an old module?

It would be my own setting. A few minor house rules (nothing game altering) and "hardcore" style character creation (3d6 straight down the line for ability scores, roll 1st level hit points).

Not sure at this point if I'm going to run it here, on my forums, or both (run two games). Depends on interest.

The world is slightly less high-magic and multi-cultural than the D&D Known World (Mystara). A number of more or less independent duchies and baronies, all nominally beholden to a Queen. To the northwest is a vast wilderness ripe for exploration and possible settlement, though also full of ruins of the empire that once dominated the area.
