Hm, is this a return of Classic Play to the RPGA? I confess I haven't looked at DDXP or the RPGA itself in a while. Some of the events listed as classic look like they might be an attempt at the good ol' days, and the one for kids looks like an especially good idea. Kudos! Ashes of Athas looks interesting too - far more so than, say, Wednesday Night Encounters. Again, kudos.

Unfortunately I am as likely to take time off work in January as it is to be 90 degrees in Fort Wayne in January, so I almost certainly won't be there. On the other hand, WOTC did announce a virtual table top is coming, so I guess anything is possible (zing!).

I wish it were still in Crystal City, Va. Sigh.

Tempted to go this year nonetheless.

The shared Dark Sun games sound fun.

Wizards of the Coast sponsors the show (and sends all kinds of cool people out to it). They provide some content for it. The rest is what I decide I want to have at the show to make it snazzy and as fun as possible. So I decided to start up Ashes of Athas on my own (and I have one crazy good team working on it) and solicite authors for Classic style events (including a roleplaying championship co-sponsored with Critical Hits). So glad that people are seeing it as a good move.
