D&D for Breakfast

Sunday Greyhawk game from 10:00 AM to 6:00 or 7:00 PM.

Wednesday Night Ebberon game from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

If I didn't have to be at work at 7:30 AM, I'd play forever!

Thatta boy!

We play Sundays from 1230pm to 6pm. Sometimes everyone stays for dinner. In the game I play in we generally start at 6pm and go to midnight (Saturdays mostly).

Getting people on the same schedule is one of the problems of gaming. I, like the original poster, am a morning person, early to bed (9pm) early to rise (5:30-6am). I have been on the same schedule for years and ANY deviation from this works hell on my body. I played a one-shot DnD game with a group last month and we were up till 4am after gaming for about 12 hours straight (marathon session with out of town DM). I felt like a had a hangover for 2 days. Me, i would like to start playing around 11-12 and finish up by 6-7pm. I'm too old to be gaming after the witching hour...

We generally play 4-10(ish) on Sundays. Can't start earlier due to people wanting to be with their kids. Don't see the problem, myself. Surely that's what Saturdays are for.

On the very odd occasion we play Saturdays it's 10/11 until 9/10.

In the good old days we'd start Friday evening and play until we all fell asleep, then pick it up when the GM was awake. Finish after lunch Sunday. I miss those days.

I'd like to play on staurdays from 10 AM to 6 PM. But I'm the striker for my amateur soccer team which plays on Saturday mornings. That means I'm finally able to move again (age catches up to everyone) at about 4:00 PM :o .

Gafaw! Only morning for beer?

We were rescuing a gnomish village on one evening gaming session while polishing off the better part of a case of Shiner. We didn't have enough minis (or chess pieces or other creative counters) to account for all the gnome warriors, so we used Shiner bottle caps. So from then on, they became the Shiner gnomes...

Who said anything about only?

There are lots of fine times to have beer.

Especially in the middle of comprehensive exams for your BA...

Does anybody feel like the schedule you prefer is based on your role in the group?

I've noted a pattern I've developed at the NC Game Days. It seems that given the choice I will play in the morning while my brain wakes up and then GM in the afternoon when I feel more aware.

Henry dubbed this "Play 'em in the AM and GM in the PM."

Back when I was a useless layabout, my friends would come over and set up at noon. When everything was set up, they'd bang on my bedroom door and I'd roll out of bed and into the gaming room. Worked just fine. Course we'd sometimes play all day and into the wee hours. So yeah, morning, noon, night...as long as its D&D. :D

Edit: I apologize for the overuse of 'wee'

That sounds like my friend Greg. We used to do exactly that. Good times. The best, really.

I'm a die-hard night person. I can't get anything done most days until the sun goes down, and *usually* can't sleep well unless the sun's up.

I only do about 5 hours of sleep, and the rest of the daylight hours are spent doing mindless chores and errands- the sun hurts my brain. :D I catch up on sleep about once a week.
