D&D game table

I hope that they come up with some sort of "family" rate, because I know I won't pay $10 for myself and then another $10 just so my wife can sit at the same virtual gaming table. We're in the same house, for pete's sake, so I know we couldn't justify doubling our subscription rates.

Any word on this?

I know about 90% of other online applications don't have this. Most things that require a monthly subscription cost don't allow multiple simultaneous logins (Everquest, WoW, adult sites, Somethingawful.com, etc.).

Sorry, but most likely you'll either have to have two separate accounts or share one.

Yeah, MMORPGs definitely don't have family subscriptions. How could they check for sure when someone was "in the family" or just friends who come over all the time to cut costs.

If that is true I definitely won't use it. The free programs allow my wife and three kids to be signed in at the same time. Unfortunately we are down to 4 computers right now.

I don't know how they could resolve it, but maybe they'll have different levels of access. Why would somebody who ONLY wants to go to the virtual gaming table and doesn't need the other content need to pay the same as somebody who is a DM and gets full use of Insider? That would be the question I'd ask them. ;)

Personally I really don't see how 20 dollars a month is going to break the bank. It costs more to go see a movie for two and buy snacks... 2hrs of entertainment vs. a whole month? Seriously, if 20 dollars is a problem... then I don't know what to tell you.

My wife and I each have a WoW subscription by the way, for which we pay *gasp* 30 dollars a month!

The question is easy for me: the money I currently spend on WoW will be redirected to DnDI. In fact, I'll save a few bucks a month unless the exchange rate goes pear-shaped, AND I've finally got the incentive I need to leave WoW behind.

I think it boils down to my gamers aren't going to pay 10 bucks a month to play at my game (I'd be rich). If I am running a game at my table I want to use vista's multimouse support throw them some mice and get to it. This is something I hope they are thinking about.

I hope dice rolling will not just be able to be done without the graphics, but that you can set up the "sword swing with power attack for 4" and click one button and get the result and damage (and crit) all at once.

Maybe even a response from the monster you attacked whether you hit it or not.

I was under the impression that the virtual game table doesn't have any "rules"; it's just a virtual space in which minis are moved and dice are rolled. It will be up to the DM to adjudicate the results of die rolls as always. Again, that's just my impression.
