D&D leads to Christianity.

On his webpage, in the new Deities and Demigods section, co-author James Wyatt says this:

"[Deities and Demigods]...represents coming full circle for me. I credit the original Deities & Demigods book with sparking my interest in religion, which led me to my Christian faith and my stint in ministry."

I wonder what Jack Chick would say to THAT.

Nothing. He doesn't do interviews, and he ignores anything that doesn't support his worldview.

If he were required to answer, he'd probably say something like "Clearly this evil person is lying about his faith in order to seduce good Christians into his clutches."

Actually it depends. I believe that good ol' Chick believes that religions other than his own are evil (or at least not worthy). Catholics for sure. So unless he shares the religion (Baptist?) he would write off the remark. If he did share the religion...most likely he would be gunning to have Mr. Wyatt removed from the ministry.

We give Jack too much credit. I think he's on of those people that we need to stop talkign about so he goes away.

I agree. Who cares what Jack thinks, his opinion isn't worth anything more than mine. So what if he has a website.. *gasp* so do I, and most people that are capable of typing and possess an internet connection (Even some that don't!).

I dunno... I'm happier with Jack in the world. He's certainly not hurting me, and I've enjoyed some great conversations about what an enormous putz he is. I doubt many people take him seriously, so he's not dangerous... and just imagine a life as an RPG geek who's never laughed himself to tears over Dark Dungeons.

Crackpots are great when they're just entertainment.

I double Dr Midnight, I think Jack Chick is one of the most entertaining people on the net; the funny thing is also his ability to always find the worst of Christianity and actually belive that it is something good :)

Jack Chick has done more to harm Christianity than anybody else on the planet.

Don't judge Christianity by Jack Chick. Judge it by Thomas Aquinas, Augustine of Hippo, or CS Lewis.

Tabloids are entertaining as well, especially to someone who knows they're a load of crap, but that doesn't change the fact that the world as a whole would be a better place without them.

A friendly warning. .

Just a friendly warning. . . Everyone has been fine so far in this thread - but let's avoid discussing the pros and cons of Christianity - this is not the place for that.

Thanks.
