I do wonder if this Adventure is the "back-door Pilot" for a new Campaign Setting...

I'm positive it is, we know they are working on two new settings, they keep comparing the Domains of Delight to the Domains of Dread, both settings have carnivals that function as mobile domains that can enter the material plane moving between worlds and acting as entrances and exits from their respective planes and demiplanes. Heck this book even comes with races, which while not unheard of, is race for adventure books in 5e, but not for setting books.

Thanks I found this this one mentioning it. New D&D book explains why dragons are so important that they’re half the game's name

Dungeons & Dragons' Feywild Now Has Domains Of Delight

This basically confirms to my thinking that one of the new D&D settings they are working on is the Domains of Delight, ruled by the Archfey instead of Dark Lords. They compare Prismeer to Barovia Beyond the Witchlight to Curse of Strahd, Palace of Heart's Desire seems akin to Castle Ravenloft, so perhaps the new setting will as a whole will be called Heart's Desire or Prismeer after the Domain itself.

It also occurs to me, the Feywild Hobgoblin could be for the hypothetical new setting book itself.
It’s bugging me that they’re saying dragons are so important “we named the game after them”. No, you didn’t. You bought the company that named it that. You didn’t name squat. Sorry. Too many group projects in university. People patting themselves on the back for things they didn’t do is a pet peeve.

Watching the James Wyatt interview now, a few observations:

  • There is a table to generate ideas to tie in any Character Class to Dragons: CIrcle of Land Druid related to a magical Dragon, Warlock with an Archfey Warlock with a Moonstone Dragon for a patron.
  • 20 tables of Adventure generation ala Ravnica/Eberron or DMG Chapter 5
  • Dragon quirks tables
  • Dragons part of the creation of the Prime Material Plane, tied to the physical world.
  • Dragons are not big lizards, but magical beings tied to the world.
  • James Wyatt mentions that there is a bit where Fizban teaches a Dracohydra five part harmony, which suggests that Dracohydra's are in the game, another deep cut.

Good points all, except I think that Prismeer is just one Domain of Delight. If they made a full book, I'm thinking they would create many more. And hopefully just explore the Feywild more generally, which Ravenloft didn't do for the Shadowfel.

Absolutely, I sure there will be lot of different Domains of Delight, but the Setting of the Domains of Dread is called Ravenloft, after Castle Ravenloft in Barovia, which is the first Domain of Dread to exist, so I'm thinking they could mirror the naming convention with Prismeer being the first, most important Domain of Delight, which the article basically suggests that Prismeer serve the same function for the Domains of Delight that Barovia serves for Ravenloft.

Went completely over my head, yeah that makes some sense. I don't love the name Prismeer (or Heart's Desire) much myself, so I'd prefer if they just named it Tatiana's Guide to the Feywild or something, but that's just me.

The Domains of Delight aren't the whole Feywild, just demiplanes suspended within it. Still I could see a Ellywick's Ballad of Prismeer or Ellywick's Guide to Your Heart's Desire.
