Still watching.Didn't feel like making a new thread about it, but someone with early access to the new monster manual did the math (they did the monster math!). Just skimmed the video so far, as it's an hour long, but seems interesting:
Interesting. Didn't seem like there was as much change versus published monsters as I thought there would be. Also, he mentioned there was only 1 CR 24 monster (ancient gold dragon), but in the 2014 MM there were 2: ancient gold & red dragons. Based on his spreadsheet I think the ancient red might have moved to CR 25 (assuming he didn't make mistake)Didn't feel like making a new thread about it, but someone with early access to the new monster manual did the math (they did the monster math!). From the official D&D BlueSky: Faerie dragons! I am... unsure... about the new design.
It does, don't get me wrong! There's just something that I haven't gotten used to yet about the new designI mean, it looks like a faerie dragon?
Give it a minute. Someone will jump in to let us all know they like the change, and it isn't worth having any kind of issue with.View attachment 394835

Fair! The 2014 MM art is so very iconic for me, the cha ge is very strange all around. It does, don't get me wrong! There's just something that I haven't gotten used to yet about the new design
Perhaps it'll become more "normal" in my mind with time
It looks to much like a bird or Archaeopteryx IMO. I prefer something like this:I mean, it looks like a faerie dragon?
