D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie: Action Packed, Funny as Hell

According to Justice Smith, one of the stars of the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons movie, the film is "action-packed, thrilling, funny as hell".

In a conversation with Collider, Smith said:

[Goldstein and Daley are] incredible. They’re so funny and they have such clear vision. I loved Game Night. That movie is so good and so funny. And it’s such a clear, specific story. It doesn’t try and be anything that it’s not. I think they approached this the same way. I can’t spoil too much but it’s action-packed, thrilling, funny as hell… it’s all of the things and yet it has a clear idea. That specificity is key in storytelling and John and Jonathan do that so well, being like, "This is the story we’re telling but they’re making it enjoyable the entire time." This is me not trying to spoil the movie in any regards. I’ve given away no details.

The movie, which also stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis, is scheduled for March 3rd, 2023.

I would love..."Your Highness Too" or "To Highness". That movie was great, my buddy got a crappy haircut shortly after it came out, even his wife was making fun of him. We called him Courtney for years.

I didn't hate Your Highness, I'd just like something a little less slapstick and crude for a D&D movie.

I agree totally. Now Id have no problem with a comedy based D&D movie from the standpoint of a group playing a random adventure. The possibilities are endless.

I'd be totally fine with a parody of sorts. As long as there are strong characters (as in character development via the script, not PC's - though I suppose it could be both!), and spins a good yarn, it will be huge improvement over past efforts.

If this movie does well, Im sure we'll get 12 more over the next 15 years so Im sure this is in the cards at some point.

My 13 year old self would have really liked that movie. Unfortunately, I was 40ish when it came out....

I could do without dick and rape jokes all over my fantasy movies, personally.

I still really hope they have a character die early on only for the group to find another character played by the same actor who, without much reason at all, also joins the party.
