D&D General D&D Podcasts that are edited like a story instead of a game?

Organizing by story is powerful and memorable. It is part of the appeal of narrative immersion and theater of the mind style.

Editing the gameplay for its story, including plot points and so on, seems worthwhile to listen to. It can inspire gameplay as well.
I really prefer games and stories to be separate things. Stories can come from games (preferably in an emergent and organic way), but I don't ever want anything that started as a game to lose that aspect.

To return to this, this is actually what I am interested in with a podcast. It's also the concept I was thinking of trying to produce for a while.

I love emergent stories, too! I rarely plan out too many details but more provide opportunities for stories to bloom.

However, it would be really interesting to play and record those sessions and then edit them to sound more like just the narratives. It's a challenge that has stuck in my mind for a long time.

Yup. The closest I ever got to what you're talking about is The Adventure Zone, which is at least uproarious funny (at least in the Balance campaign) to compensate for its dismissive attitude towards the rules of the game its theoretically based on.

By far my main reason to watch or listen to a gaming podcast or video is educational. If I'm there for fun I'd rather play or read.

That's the only one I've listened to like this, and it occurred to me that it fits the OP criteria pretty well. Hour long episodes, theoretically 5E but really loose with the rules. Very story-focused, especially as it went on and the DM got his footing and figured out a story he wanted to tell, building on the initial seeds from a module but going further and further afield in canon and in rules.
