D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF EVIL*

Okay, I tried to puzzle out UKs document but it is too dense for me. I don't understand how to calculate some things. Forget about the level of Barbarian for right now.

Feral Bugbear
Medium Size = +0.0
Monstrous Humanoid = +0.2
Three Hit Dice = +1.8
Problem here as the template states that the hit die changes to d10s. How do you calculate that?
Also, Move should be 40 feet a round. The only cost it gives is if I double the speed. How do I figure a +10 feet increase?

+9 Natural AC = +0.9
two 1d8 claw attacks = +0.5 and +0.25 for the first and second one? I didn't get how to price attacks.
Fast Healing 2 = +0.15
Ability scores ( +8 Str, +4 Con, -4 Int, +2 Wis, -2 Cha) = +0.8
Improved Grab = +0.2
What is the cost of the racial +4 bonus to Move Silently?

Sorry for the problems.

Don't worry about trying to calculate the CR of the bugbear, the doc already lists it at 2.5.

From the Half-Dragon template, the 'Improved Hit Die Type' is 0.2CR.

If .2 is double-speed, increasing by 1/3 should be .07.

The two claw attacks aren't iterative, they're both at full bonus. A d8 avg's to 4.5, so the cost of the 2 d8 claw attacks is .9

Skills are .02/pt, so +4 to MS is .08

Total:
Improved Hit Die: .2
Speed Increase +10': .07
+9 Natural Armor: .9
2 Claws @ d8: .9
Fast Heal 2: .15
Stat Boost: .8
Imp Grab: .2
+4 to MS: .08

Total: +3.3 CR

Feral Bugbear = 2.5(bugbear) + 3.3(Feral) = 5.8 CR

Thanks, I think I understand a little better now. I had tried to add them both so the attribute boost should be +0.2 for just the feral tempate. The +4 to Move Silently is from the Bugbear.

Feral Bugbear = 2.5(bugbear) + 1.9(Feral) = 4.4CR

How do you get to 1.9? Now that I've got my book here's what I find...

Darkvision: .2 (0 for bugbear)
Improved Hit Die: .2
Speed Increase +10': .07
+6 Natural Armor: .6 (.3 for a bugbear)
2 Claws @ d8: .9
Fast Heal 2: .15
Stat Boost: .2
Imp Grab: .2

Total: +2.52 CR (or 2.02 for bugbear)

Man, I am totally lost with these threads...and I'm a detail-oriented freak.

I look between this (Evil) thread and the parent and see variations on which UK column, which poin/tCr value etc... ARGH!!!

Could someone let me know what the CRs of these will be?

Drow Cleric 11, normall CR 12, on a Dire Bat144
Drow Wizard 11, normally CR 14 on Dire Bat144
8 Drow Wizards 3, normall CR 4, on Dire Bat16 each (4)
504

Feral Gargoyles, normally CR 525X10=250
Vargoulle, normall CR 24X20=80
Fire Mephits, normally CR 3,9 X5=45
Stirge, normally CR 1/22.5? X46=115
Harpies CR 4 16 Pts eachx6=96

I think that my numbers are way off (especially with the Mounts), but someone let me know, thanks. Re-reading the rules tomorrow...

I'm thinking of adding a Dragon or a Yrthak in there somewhere...

Since we've dropped LA in favor of CR it's a bit weird.
In the CR's below, the Drow keep their 1 racial HD.

Drow (1.5) + Clr11[no equip](8.8) = 10.3CR -> 106.9 pts
Drow (1.5) + Clr 11[equp](11) = 12.5CR -> 156.25 pts

Dire Bat 3.5 CR -> 12.15 pt x10 = 121.5 pts

We're using the 4th col in UK's doc

Vargouille -> 1.25 CR
Stirge -> 1 CR
Harpy -> 7 CR

Gargoyle (4) + Feral (1.4) = 5.4 CR -> 29.16 pts

Feral
Darkvision: .2 (0 for gargoyle)
Improved Hit Die: .2
Speed Increase +10': .05 (.05 for gargoyle)
+6 Natural Armor: .6 (.2 for a gargoyle)
2 Claws @ d8: .9 (.4 for gargoyle)
Fast Heal 2: .15
Stat Boost: .2
Imp Grab: .2

Total: +2.52 CR (or 1.4 for gargoyle)

I'd go a Yrthak myself. they fit the theme and breathweapons are covered by the Mephits,

We are so gonna win this war! Me dropping a few entangles you guys doing strafe fire (are incorporeal creatures immune to entangle?) and then finish off the survivors with a Storm of Vegeance or Elemtal Fire Storm MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Incorporeal creatures are very much immune to Entangle. Just make sure not to tie up my cavalry...

Don't forget the Creeping Dooms, Earthquakes, and Whirlwinds.

Where is the Col's chart, so that I can figure out the points for the other troops?

I saw no '4th column'.

The lower level Wizards will all have wands of fireballs and a few others.
Invisible Fireball shooting Devestaton... :D

If I have points left, I am going to punch up the level of the Wizard/Cleric team.

Come here and grab v4.zip (it's in the first post).

Open the zipped pdf & scroll half-way or so down to find the revised CR's list.

Each monster has 4 columns of CR's listed. We're using the 4th.
